The Ruby Group is strengthening its Development Team. Isabell Fuß is promoted to Group Vice President Development with effect from 1 November. She has been with Ruby as a member of the management team since it was founded in 2013. At the same time, Julian Mörs, who has been on Ruby’s Development Team since 2016, takes up the role of Group Director Development. The Ruby Development Team now has eight members, each responsible for target markets in Europe and North America.

A particular strength of the Ruby Development Team is the efficient conversion of office and retail space into hotels and workspaces. More than 100 possible modular room geometries help to achieve high space and investment efficiency, even under challenging architectural conditions.

By continuously strengthening the management structures, Ruby is preparing for further international expansion. In addition to the eight existing hotels and three workspaces, Ruby currently has 17 further hotels and three workspaces in the building preparation phase or under construction. Ruby currently employs 285 staff in Germany, Austria and the U.K. and plans to have 685 employees working for Ruby across Europe by 2023 with a capacity of 3,576 rooms.

In addition to Michael Struck and Isabell Fuß, Ruby’s Executive Board includes Boris Simm/VP Operations, Daniella Boeken/VP Commercial, Martin Zilkens/VP Finance and Richard Hartl/VP Technical Services as well as Uta Scheurer/VP Human Resources and Tobias Köhler/Director Systems.

About Ruby Hotels

The Munich-based Ruby Group under the leadership of founder and CEO Michael Struck is breaking new ground with its Lean Luxury philosophy. With a lean organisational structure and concentration on the essentials, Ruby succeeds in creating a contemporary, affordable form of luxury for modern, cost and style-conscious customers.

Founded in 2013, the Group already operates 17 Ruby hotels across Europe, with a further eight hotels under construction or in the planning phase. In addition, Ruby is expanding into China via a joint venture with Delonix, headed by Alex Zheng, one of China’s most accomplished hotel entrepreneurs. Ruby also offers Ruby Workspaces in Munich, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Vienna, Stuttgart, and Malta – perfectly equipped workplaces and a creative atmosphere with access to an inspiring office community.

Financially strong partners support Ruby’s expansion. ECE Group; the Austrian Soravia Group; Franger Investment, a German family office; Ocean Link, a private equity fund; the entrepreneur Michael Hehn; and Michael Struck jointly hold the company shares.
